Vertigo
Lasting less than 2 minutes provoked by moving the head into a certain position; balance deficits may accompany vertigo, frequently balance disorders outlast brief vertigo.

BPPV (Benign Proxysmal Positional Vertigo)
Acute onset of vertigo and nystagmus; ‘benign’ indicates not malignant; ‘parosyxmal’ means a sudden onset of a symptom; ‘positional’ denotes head position as the provoking stimulus; ‘vertigo’ is an illusion of movement.
